For instance, the number 70 after the letter X, according to Api 5l X70 Pipe Manufacturers is the yield strength in PSI. Therefore the yield strength for these pipes are about 70 PSI. Comparatively stronger than its predecessors, the Api 5l X70 Tubular products are well suited for use in the conveyance of liquid and gaseous media across industries. The carbon steel Api 5l X70 Seamless Pipes are much harder and durable due to the absence of a seam. They are also more expensive. Furthermore, to accommodate the construction of a welded Api 5l X70 Pipe, the chemistry is modified. A lower carbon content in steels improves weldability to a certain degree. Hence, a welded Api 5l X70 Psl 1 pipe would have a slight modification in its chemistry, but only with regards to its carbon content. Secondary to carbon, these steel API 5L Grade X70 PSL 2 pipes contain a substantial amount of manganese as a microalloying element. Manganese is known to boost several important properties of carbon steel alloy. Therefore, the manganese containing Api 5l X70 Psl2 pipes are much stronger, harder and more durable than its predecessors.
