Grade 20MnV6+N is a carbon-manganese, high tensile steel grade that is supplied in a normalized condition. A mention of the letter +N in this alloy is an indicator that this particular grade is supposed to be delivered in a normalized condition. In addition to having a high tensile strength, the addition of manganese and vanadium in the alloy gives EN 10294-1 Grade 20MnV6+N Carbon Steel Hollow Bar a good hardness.
To improve the materials wear resistance, often the material is treated to a Carbonitriding process. In addition to Carbonitriding, they could be processed by either nitriding or carburizing. Similar to most carbon steel alloys, the use of Carbon Steel EN 10294-1 Grade 20MnV6+N Hollow Bars is useful, particularly in those applications that are cost-conscious. Their highly economical cost in combination with good hardness and high tensile properties coupled with durability makes them an interesting addition across several industries. The reason for this is that hollow bars are structurally strong, even though they are hollow in the centre. Their thicker walls make up for their hollow core. Furthermore, their lack of core makes them not only weigh less, but also consume less metal during their manufacture. Hence, there is a notable reduction in weight.
