A low alloy steel, grade ST52.3 is known to be a high strength material. One of the advantages of using the ST52.3 Tubing is that it is easily welded to other steel grades. Another benefit is its strength properties. The tensile strength for pipes belonging to specification DIN 17121 Grade St52-3 ranges between 490 Mpa to 630 Mpa. Whereas their yield strength is valued at 355 MPa. This low alloyed carbon and manganese containing Dom Welded Din 2393 ST52-3 BK tube is predominantly used in the Fluid Power Industry. The absence of several alloying elements reduces the cost of producing these tubes. The alloy for ST52-3 NBK Tube is known to have extraordinary impact energies. Categorised as a non-alloy, the grade ST52.3 is intended for use at elevated temperature. Apart from techniques such as stress-relieving heat treatment or normalizing, the use of any form of heat treatment is not recommended on the DIN 17100 ST52.3.
Standard DIN 2393 covers precision welded tubes produced from alloys like ST 52.3 BKS. this high precision tube is well suited for several applications like Auto and motorcycle shock absorber, Electric industry, Construction machinery, Gas spring, Hydraulic system steel tube, Heat exchanger as well as for Condenser. These industries prefer the use of DIN 2393 Grade St 52-3 tubes as they have the need for a dimensionally accurate product. In some instances, the St 52.3 DIN 2393 ISO H9 is also used where smaller wall thickness or a reliable surface condition is a mandate.
