The high contents of molybdenum and nitrogen present in UNS S31254 is what gives this super austenitic alloy an amplified corrosion resistance properties. A benefit of using UNS S31254 Seam welded and cold redrawn tube is that they tend to exhibit high resistance not only to pitting but also to crevice corrosion.
Moreover, as they have been produced according to specification ASTM A213, they have a much higher tensile strength properties and higher creep-rupture in comparison to the more typical austenitic stainless steels such as 316L. Hence, the ASTM A213 UNS S31254 pipes are well suited for use in applications like heat-exchanger, steel boiler and superheater. Super austenitic stainless steel alloyed like the WNR 1.4547 Seamless Tube is to be furnished, according to ASTM A213 in the heat-treated condition. This specification also takes into consideration every tube that is produced. Hence, each and every specimen of the 6MO Stainless Steel Pipe is required to be subject to certain testing procedures. For instance, tests like tension test, flattening test, hardness test, flaring test along with a nondestructive electric test or a hydrostatic test are performed on the 6Mo Stainless Steel Tube.
