A steel bollard is a short, vertical post with a sturdy construction. The term Steel Pipe Bollards originally referred to a post on a quay or a ship, which was basically used for mooring boats. However, today, the term is also used by steel pipe bollard manufacturers in reference to the posts that have been installed for the purpose of controlling road traffic.
These bollards are designed to restrict ram-raiding and attacks from vehicle raiding. Typically the use of stainless steel pipe bollards is in marine environments where they are used to secure ropes for towing, mooring and other purposes. These bollards could also be used to restrain traffic intake size by checking movements or they could be used to control traffic speed by reducing the available space. Bollard Tubes are a frequent addition in places such as parking lots, or before storefront windows or, around utility meters. They may also be used to outline pedestrian areas. Concrete filled steel pipe bollards are recognised for their ability to withstand significant shock along with being produced from impact-tested construction materials. A correctly installed concrete bollard has the ability to offer kilonewtons of obstructing force. It is possible to produce corrosion resistant products by use of paint or by using galvanization. galvanized steel pipe bollards have better resistance properties as compared to stainless steel products with no surface treatments. Architectural schedule 80 steel pipe bollards are generally located over steel posts, which in turn gives them some form of a classical decorative aesthetic. U-Shaped Pipe Guard bollards, on the other hand, are first coated with primer following which they are painted to improve their aesthetics and to improve their corrosion resistance properties.
