Carbon steel ST 52.4 is also referred to as mild steel. Though not as hard as high carbon steel pipes, the st 52.4 pipe is used across several industries due to it being a cost-effective solution. Typically, mild Carbon steel grade ST 52.4 is used to manufacture vessels, build chemical plants and for pipes in industrial systems as well. However, the use of a 52.4 Seamless tube is predominant in general mechanical engineering purposes.
Din 1629 specified tubes are to be used in applications where the temperature does not exceed more than 300 °C. The delivery of a Din 1629 St52.4 pipe is either hot rolled or cold drawn, with the product being surface treated or left bare. The most common surface treatment carried out on the DIN 1630 ST 52.4 Boiler Tube includes painting, galvanization or coating with oil, depending on the order placed by the buyers. DIN 1629 specified tubes could be welded using any one of the following techniques - arc welding, electric pressure welding, flash butt welding, gas fusion welding, and gas pressure welding. All three specifications, i.e. DIN 1630, Din 1629 & DIN 1628 take into consideration unalloyed steels produced in a circular tube. Similar to both specifications DIN 1630 and Din 1629 the specified DIN 1628 St 52.4 Pipe, has no limitations on the specified maximum allowable working pressure.
