The use of carbon steel comes with several advantages. The chemistry of this carbon steel ISO 3183 L360 Pipe consists of a vital inclusion of manganese, as a microalloying element, which enhance the physical characteristics of the pipe. From high hardness to good strength, high quality API 5L Grade X52 PSL 2 pipes are an asset to the oil and petrochemical industries.
These industries use these pipes to ferry across different products from the site to refineries which are several meters across. Hence, the need for strong and durable Api 5l Grade X52 Carbon Steel Pipe exists. The cost of a piping system could be reduced by the use of an Electric Resistance Weld Pipe or an Api 5l X52 Erw Pipe, as they are cheaper in comparison to a seamless kind. However, if strength is considered to be the primary concern for the application, using Api 5l X52 Seamless Pipes is much more apt. This is because a seamless pipe has about 20% higher performance in high stress environments. Furthermore, seamless Api 5l X52 Sch 80 pipes are not susceptible to intergranular corrosion cracking and failure or pipe bursts. Compared to grade X 42, the yield strength of Api 5l X52 Grade B is much higher. The numeric that follows the letter X in Api 5l X52 Pipe mentions its yield strength, which in this case is about 52 psi. Amongst the two product specification levels Api 5l X52 Psl2 is a stronger, more durable and offers better traceability options in comparison to PSL 1.
